Week in Review: June 4 – 8
It’s been a busy week preparing for the French-themed Soiréee this weekend. I wish the weather looked a little better, or warmer, but so far it’s been a true Seattle June: unpredictable and wet. (Summer doesn’t start here until after the 4th of July.) No matter what though, it’s going to be a great party. I’ll be sure to post pictures next week.
What made us swoon:
The help we received from Marigold & Mint’s Katherine Anderson to harvest edible flowers for this weekend’s soirée right before she headed out-of-town. If that doesn’t shout amazing customer service, I don’t know what does.- While having lunch at Cafe Campagne’s bar, talking with a family from Birmingham, Alabama, about their recent adventures at Mount Rainier and Cascades. The swoon factor? Remembering how great summer vacation truly is thanks to the family’s nine-year old’s stories about their adventures.
- Cassandra Lavalle’s coco+kelley post “Happy (Ridiculous) Weekend.” She reminded her readers to be the individuals they truly are, complete with feathers and a big drum. Take a look at the post to understand the references. (Yes, it was from last Friday, but we’re rolling with it because it inspired us that much.)
- We needed some major inspiration for this blog and getting posts, well, posted in a timely, orderly fashion. Thankfully Julius Solaris’ A Short Guide to a Successful Event Blog, from his The Event Manager Blog, was a much needed read of encouragement.
- Speaking of blog inspiration, have you visited Old Try’s blog Southern Ramblings from New England? We love their “What We’re Looking at Now” snapshot posts and may try to do something similar. As Charles Caleb Colton said, “Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery.”
