Getting Ready for the Fourth! {party ideas & tips}
Can you believe next Thursday is the Fourth of July? June has flown by and July is about to land with a giant “BOOM!” We’re spending the holiday’s afternoon at our friend’s home, enjoying the amazing bounties from her garden and farm. I’m really looking forward to the visit; soaking up country-life and catching-up with friends while the boys run wild in completely open space.
Of course, the visit means I won’t deck out our backyard for the holiday (trust me though – this is quite alright!), but if I were to host, here are few items I’d love to use. Recently I’ve found an appreciation for Americana-themed items that can be easily enjoyed year ’round – and not scream “4TH OF JULY USE ONLY!” – like the USA-shaped American flag. It would look incredible in the hallway between the boys’ bedrooms throughout the year.
What are you doing for the Fourth of July?
1st row: beverage dispenser, joss & main {party tip: fill up the dispenser with ice, water and a cup of sliced berries or citrus so you won’t have people constantly in and out of your kitchen getting water, or filling up your recycling with plastic water bottles} / bistro bottle, serena & lily (party tip: these are perfect for serving homemade limoncello; just be sure to tag the bottle as an alcoholic beverage!}/ red-striped paper straws, paper source // 2nd row: chunky rattan tray, serena & lily {party tip: place a clean dish towel or napkin over the tray and use it to serve chips and a bowl of salsa} / american flag, joss & main / patriotic starburst kit, paper source {party tip: hang in a cluster over the buffet to create visual interest} // 3rd row: lighthouse flashlight, paper source {perfect for making your way back to the car after the fireworks show} / blue bistro chair, joss & main / tear-off cloth napkins in lipstick red, west elm
A word to the wise: Joss & Main is a flash-sale site so if you like a product, better jump on it fast! The items above are part of sale ending this weekend.
