Ready for the Fourth! {food & fashion}
Hopefully Memorial Day and June allowed you some time to practice grilling because this upcoming holiday weekend is all about being the BBQ Master and picnicking in style. As I mentioned last week, we’re heading to friend’s farm for the celebrations and I hope to bring these cherry hand pies. It’s a nice update to an All-American dessert and brings back childhood memories of stopping at the corner market after school for a Hostess fruit pies (yeah, remember those?!). If my fellow farm party attendees are reading this, my back-up plan is a peach and berry cobbler should the pies fail.
As for the outfit, I’m all about keeping it elegantly simple and comfortable, especially when it’s day of relaxing with friends.
eyelet camisole / striped straw fedora / notched v-neck tee / chino shorts / metallic sandalsAnd because I’m asked a lot when I post clothing: yes, I actually own two of the above items. The sandals, in neon pink, which are great for summer days and they’re also major compliment magnets (seriously, it’s like stepping into commercial-land where people randomly compliment attire). And the v-neck, in white, which is a perfect layer for summer evenings.
What about you? Any plans for the Fourth – or for the long weekend?
